The skinfade is one of the most versatile cuts, but it does not suit everyone. Read this before asking for one.
What exactly is a skinfade?
A fade where the sides go down to skin (zero) at the lowest point, with progressive transition upward. It can be low, mid or high.
It is not the same as a buzz cut: the skinfade has gradation, not uniform length.
Who it suits best
- Oval or square faces. They use the contrast without losing proportion.
- Thick or full hair. The texture contrast works better.
- Those with long or medium top. The skinfade needs contrast above.
When NOT to ask for it
If your face is very round, a skinfade might emphasise it. In that case, go for a classic mid or low fade.
