There are a hundred brands, all promising the same. What to look for on the label and what to avoid.

Read ingredients, not packaging

A good oil has 2-3 base oils (jojoba, argan, almond) and a few drops of essential oil for scent. If the ingredient list reads like a chemistry exam, be skeptical.

The good ones

Jojoba: closest to natural skin sebum. Hydrates without greasing.

Argan: softens beard hair and adds shine. Expensive, worth it.

Sweet almond: neutral, gentle, ideal for sensitive skin.

"The best beard oil is not the one that smells the strongest: it is the one you barely notice but that works."
